Granny Black’s in Dunkeld

"A real gem! The food/drink was excellent, great service and beautiful decor. The 5 star reviews for this wonderful little cafe are rightly deserved. If you are looking for the perfect cafe in the lovely Dunkeld, I would definitely recommend Granny Black's. We had a brunch for 4 this morning, well prepared breakfast rolls ciabatta enjoyed with perfect Illy coffees and a hot chocolate. Our cheerful host was great, the service was quick and very flexible around our slightly off menu request. Thank you."

"Fun story about the owner reopening the tea room his grandmother ran for 30 years. Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Found the place by accident off the beaten path and had a great time with our large party. The owner was very accommodating. Surprisingly inexpensive too. The desert, and all the food really, was nothing short of artwork. Beautiful presentation. A few in my party got the chicken curry and it was amazing. I'd get that next time."

"Visited for lunch time with my newborn son and I had a lovely treat : raspberry cheesecake and a vanilla frappe ! It was all homemade with quality ingredients and absolutely delicious. I ll be back to try other things ! It was so hot today and would have opted for fresh options like salad or avocado on toast but was not on the menu so picked the cheesecake and frappe and was not disappointed. The room looks lovely and the staff is discreet and professional. Price wise it is very affordable in comparison with other places in the villlage."

"Lovely wee cafe. We traveled to Dunkeld for a day trip, a walk nearby to see the waterfalls and the autumnal scenes and wanted to find a local cafe to have some lunch. After a quick search online we really couldn't choose as there seemed to be lots of choice in such a small area which was great. We seen this wee one and decided to wait outside for a seat as when we opened the door to speak to staff the food smelled incredible and we were so hungry...after a short wait, a table was available and we were welcomed in by the owner. Some small chat and left with menus. The food we seen coming out looked great for other people and we chose a few things for ourselves. Baked potato, soup, toastie, hot chocolate and coffee! We loved it and it was very reasonable priced too. Kids menu with good choice on it, away from the usual chicken nuggets etc. Great service from all the staff we encountered! Thank you!"

"Went here today for a quick lunch and had such a lovely experience. The food was delicious, and the service was fantastic. Really lovely atmosphere in that even other customers were interacting and having a lovely time with other tables. We had soups and toasties and something that was a really nice touch is that you can tell even the salads had a bit of thought to them. So often a salad is just a bit a green with tomato and cucumber but they had really made the salad worth eating. Our new spot for lunch when we visit Dunkeld for sure!"
